- Dr. Maurice Seay receiving honorary Doctor of Laws degree from WMU president James Miller during the August 12, 1966, commencement as WMU vice presidents Dr. Russell H. Seibert and Dr. John J. Pruis place Dr. Seay's new doctoral hood about his shoulders. Dr. Seay was Dean of the College of Education at Michigan State University.

- Studio portrait of Blanche Draper from the 1946 Brown & Gold yearbook. Draper came to Western State Normal School in 1918 to serve as the faculty editor of the Western Herald. She continued to serve in an advisory capacity to the Herald after it became a student-staffed newspaper. Her position evolved to full-time publicity director for the institution, which she held until her death in 1951. Draper Hall and Dinning Service was co-dedicated in 1950 in her honor for 31 years as publicity director.
