- Dr. Phillip R. Shriver speaking from a podium at the 1967 Mid-December Commencement held in the Read Field House at Western Michigan University. Behind him sits faculty in academic regalia. Shriver was president of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Dr. Shriver earned his bachelor's degree at Yale University, his master's from Harvard University and Ph.D. from Columbia University. Prior to assuming his post at Miami, he was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Kent State University.

James Knauss was a professory of history since 1929. H. Glen Henderson was the associate professor of music since 1913. John H. Plough was the assistant professor of Industrial Arts since 1941. Wynand Wichers was the vice-presendent since 1945. William Brown as a professor of english since 1917.

The two wings to the Administration Building, The Training School and the Gymnasium, were added in 1909.

- Anna L. French in her office. She began her career at Western as a assistant librarian in 1907, and later became head librarian in 1939 until her retirement in 1946. The dormatory, French Hall, was dedicated in her honor in 1960.
