- Print. Black and white photographic print of Woodward Avenue and State Street. A carriage advertising D. Levy and Sons Fish, Oysters and Game walks past the Taylor Woolfenden and Company, as well as R.H. Traver. Pedestrians are visible crossing the thoroughfare as well as walking along the sidewalk. The facades of the neighboring merchants are heavily ornamented with red, white and blue fabrics, as well as portraits of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant.

- Color postcard depicting the David Whitney Building from Woodward Avenue in Grand Circus Park, with a pedestrian, streetcars, and automobiles in the foreground. An American flag flies atop the building. Printed on verso: Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Mich. Woodward Avenue enjoys the unusual distinction of being both Detroit's leading business and residence street. It is named in honor of Judge Woodward, one of Detroit's foremost citizens in the pioneer days, and stretches approximately north and south. At the foot are the ferry docks where boats leave regularly for Windsor, Ont., Belle isle and Bois Blanc Islands. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Oct 26, 1915.

- Black and white photo of a row of storefronts on Woodward Avenue, north of Gratiot Avenue, set to be demolished for Hudson's 1914 expansion. John V. Sheehan and Company Books has a large sign posted above its storefront which reads, "Removal sale, Tremendous Slaughter in prices on books, stationery, bibles, books in sets, New location 260 & 262 Woodward Ave." A similar large sign about Leo Zuckerman's reads, "Leo Zuckerman forced to retire from business! This building to be torn down within 30 days. $100,000.00 stock of ladies and misses suits, coats, dresses, skirts, and millinery must be sold at once. Must retire from business. Building to be torn down. Entire stock to be sold regardless of cost. We've got to move." A smaller sign above a piano store reads, "Building comes down May 17... piano reductions and remember, it does matter where you buy your piano." Delmar's Candies, F. Rolshoven and Company, and Albany Dentists are also on the block. A row of cars are parked along Woodward. "May 9, 1914," is printed at the lower right, and "Manning Bros., Detroit," is embossed at the lower left. "Site of new J.L. Hudson store, Woodward and Gratiot," is handwritten on the verso along with a Manning Brothers stamp.

Many retail businesses neighbor the thoroughfare and include, from left to right, Arthur and Phildric Photographers; Hoop Skirts; Chickering Pianos and Band Instruments; Housekeepers Palace; and the J.H. Black and Company. First Presbyterians Church is visible in the background. Also, written on the verso, "Old Downtown Detroit, First Presbyterian Church, where Hudson's is now, Newcomb's to the left."
