- Color postcard depicting a crowd gathered for a concert at the Band Stand on a bridge over a canal on Belle Isle. People are seated along both shorelines and many canoes fill the canal. Printed on verso: Band Pavilion, Belle Isle. Band Concerts are given at the city's expense during the summer afternoons and evenings. These concerts draw immense crowds, both shores being lined with pleasure seekers, while the graceful canoes throng the canal. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Jul 8, 1909.

Soldiers and Sailors Monument built in 1881 at a cost of $70,000. The red building at right is the Hammond Building. The electric sign on top of building is one of the finest in the west and when in action gives a description of the famous Chariot Race of Ben Hur. - Color postcard depicting a view along a curved road on Belle Isle, lined with trees. Printed on verso: Drive Way, Belle Isle. - Detroit's principal recreation spot, is an island in the Detroit river connected with the city by a bridge, 8 feet less than half a mile in length. It comprises 702 acres, is over two miles long and boasts over 20 miles of fine macadam roadway. A fine zoo, aquarium, horticultural building, swimming and skating pavilions, casino and boat livery are in connection. The City has expended over $1,500,000 on it since its purchase in 1879.
