- The Charles H. Mead Collection contains 38 pencil and ink drawings, as well as some that possibly include watercolor. The drawings are primarily of scenes and buildings from the Lansing, Michigan, area, with a few from South Haven, Michigan. The drawings that are dated range from 1868 to 1878. Those undated are believed to have been done between 1865 and 1879. Many are glued to heavy card paper backing, and some have mat frames. This collection has been fully digitized. A representative selection has been included with this record.

- Historical Society of Greater Lansing and Ingham County Historical Commission president Craig Whitford talks about the artwork of Charles Mead, a member of the Mead family of early settlers and an illustrator of many early scenes of Lansing, at the Turner-Dodge House and Heritage Center. A selection of Charles Mead drawings held by the Forest Parke Library & Archives at CADL can be seen online in collection no. 2015-05-004.
