- Notes:
- Gallagher Dock, the fish tug La Fond and Angus laying stern to stern. In the the best times the Gallagher dock shipped more whitefish than any other fishery in the country. They also cut ice from Beaver Harbor and supplied Beaver Island with ice for ice boxes and fish shipping. Incidentally, 60 years later I bought Angus and have built a new dock on this same piece of property where this picture was taken. So Angus is right back where she was 63 years ago.

- Beginning of Main St. in front of the public beach across from Holy Cross Hall on Beaver Island. Yes, you are correct. In 1951 the house on the right was owned by Grace Cole, next to it was her brother, Jewell Gillespie's garage/gas station. On the left the 1st house was owned by Willie John Gallagher. Next to it was a Pool Hall and then the Jewell Gillepie home, which ironically was destroyed by fire last month and the family has been looking for pictures of the house. The next house was owned by Tess Connaghan and then her sister and brother in law, Mabel and Mike Cull. And on the far corner is what is now our Historical Museum.
