- Gatefold invitation to the Fifth Annual Fireman's Ball held by the Ex-Members Detroit Steam Fire Department at the Light Guard Armory on Monday, April 16, 1900, featuring music by the Metropolitan Band. Committee members are listed on the left flap, information about the event is in the central panel, and a lithograph of a horse-drawn fire engine is on the right flap. The invitation is printed in red on light-green paper.

- Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of Detroit Fire Commissioner Theodore Hinchman. Handwriting on the verso notes "ex-commissioner, Theodore Hinchman." This photograph is one of a series of eight photos of former Detroit Fire Department Commissioners. A decorative engraved logo on the verso shows, "Randall, Photographer, 220 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich."

- Description:
- Program booklet, in the shape of a firefighter's helmet in profile, for the Sixth Annual Fireman's Ball held by Ex-Firemen's Association, Detroit, at the Light Guard Armory on April 8, 1901. The two helmet-shaped leafs, containing information about the event, a list of committee members and floor managers, and a dance card, are bound to the cover by a red string. "L.G. Meiner, Eng." is printed near the lower left corner of the cover. The invitation was printed by Winn and Hammond.

- Sepia-toned photograph, head and shoulders view of a Detroit Fireman, cap badge reads, "DFD 208," and the badge on his jacket reads, "Detroit Fire Department 208." The name of the photographer is mostly torn off at the bottom of the image, but was probably "F. Friend, 244 & 246 Woodward Ave., Detroit" which matches other similar photos in this collection. Written on verso, "William Doty."

- Sepia-toned glossy photo of the firemen of Hook and Ladder Company #8. The photo shows 12 firemen who are standing or seated along the side of a brick building which was probably the fire station. Various pieces of firefighting equipment are leaning up against the side of the building in the background and other items are arranged in the foreground. Items on display include hooks, ladders, lanterns, helmets, tool belts, portable fire extinguishers, and hoses. Handwriting on the verso notes "Hook & Ladder #8, Dix & Vinewood. Standing left to right: Henry Konen, Bill Wilkins, T. Noyes, G. Shea, W. Cilian, C. Gaffney, Martin May. - Detroit Firemen's Fund Association membership certificate, designed by the Calvert Lithograph Company, and issued to J.W. Houghton, and dated July 13, 1912. The certificate is signed by the group's president T.O. Shea, treasurer B. Cronin, and secretary W.M. Burgess, and a red embossed Detroit Firemen's Fund Association seal has been stamped besides the signatures. A color illustration of firefighters using a ladder apparatus and of a pair of firefighters riding on a horse-drawn fire engine are on the left side of the document.

- Description:
- Sepia-toned gelatin silver photo of five firemen, a horse-drawn hose wagon, and a horse-drawn steam fire engine as they are leaving the fire station. The group is Steam Engine Company No. 9 and the number, "9," can be seen on the side of the hose wagon just below the driver's seat. The brick fire station and open doors are visible in the background. A carved stone above the doors shows "A.D. 1901." Several other brick buildings can be seen in the background on the left side of the photo.
