- Description:
- This woman's evening dress has a black crepe bodice and a pink and gold striped taffeta skirt. It has padded shoulders and long, sleeves zippered at the wrist. The v-neck is repeated in the wide angle V of the waistline and stripes of the skirt. There is a side zipper. Label: 'Lizzette Mammoth, Book Bldg., Det.' "New York Creation, New York Dress Institute." Donor said she purchased dress at Walter's in Detroit in 1937, but it has the Mammoth label, and the NY Dress Institute wasn't organized until Nov. 1940.

- White two-piece evening gown. Both the dress and jacket are of re-embroidered lace over white taffeta. Accents of color are added with turquoise blue satin pendants on the back and ribbon on the sides under the lace. All lace is piped in white satin. This garment was owned by Matilda Dodge Wilson (October 19, 1883 – September 19, 1967),who was the wife of John Francis Dodge (October 25, 1864 – January 14, 1920), co-founder of the Dodge Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan.

- Description:
- White cotton organdy gown with floral pattern embroidery. Embroidery includes white raffia, silver threads, silver beads, white horsehair, pearl-like sequins, silk(?) flower petals. Embroidery on bodice and wide band at the hem of the skirt. Underneath top layer is one layer of organdy, one layer of nylon stiffened with horsehair, two layers of white nylon net, and white silk slip. Matching wrap is large and oblong with same embroidery and triple scalloped end. Clothing label: PRINTEMPS-ETE 1955/Christian Dior/PARIS. Stamped on label: 53344. Handwritten on tag sewn on back of label: 74429.
