A lithograph on the recto, credited to Gies and Company of Buffalo, New York, depicts a girl in a pink dress holding a cat out toward a boy. The boy is sitting in a seat and examining a bird in a small birdcage that he is holding in his hands. An advertisement for Garland Stoves and Ranges, stressing the importance of buying genuine Garland products is on the verso. Stamped at the bottom of the verso is text reading "Lapp & Moe, 642 Gratiot Ave."

The cover is printed with an advertisement for Newcomb, Endicott, and Company, featuring a lithograph of their location credited to the Calvert Lithographing Company. C.R. Mabley and Company; the Russell House; the Banner Tobacco Company; the John H. Wendell and Company Grain Commission; M.S. Smith and Company, Jewelers and Silversmiths; and the Calvert Lithographing Company are featured in advertisements within. Two pages are also dedicated to a brief "Historical Sketch of Detroit,"

- Four-pane folding promotional 1895 calendar from the Michigan Stove Company, advertising Garland Stoves and Ranges. A scene of children talking amongst themselves against a background of a landscape with a windmill is spread across all four panes on the recto, with a calendar running along the bottom and the year "1895" printed in the center. A large advertisement for Garland Stoves and Ranges is spread across all four panes on the verso.

- This 7-page letter was typewritten in black text on light gray paper by Jeremiah Dwyer who was the President of the Michigan Stove Company. The first page shows the letterhead of the Michigan Stove Company and is dated "December 31, 1900." The first page also has the watermark, "Crane's." The remaining pages have a watermark that shows the "Garland Stoves and Ranges" emblem along with "The Michigan Stove Company." The body of the letter gives some company history and a list of approximately 90 of the largest manufacturing companies in Detroit. The last pages offer some general descriptions of the city, high hopes for the continued success of manufacturing, predictions for the benefits of electricity, and best wishes to future residents of the city. Several pages have some handwritten corrections.
