Black and Company. First Presbyterians Church is visible in the background. Also, written on the verso, "Old Downtown Detroit, First Presbyterian Church, where Hudson's is now, Newcomb's to the left."

Black's, several pedestrians are on the sidewalk. A covered walkway has been set up along the sidewalk north of the theatre, suggesting construction on the Newcomb-Endicott Company building above.
