Two crew members stand near the cabin at midship. A line extends off frame from the stern of the freighter, suggesting that it is tugging something. A tree-lined shoreline is visible in the background. "In 1915" was handwritten on the non-archival envelope which previous held the plate.

The freighter has been side-launched into a slip, and water splashed from beneath it. A group of people brace themselves on board the freighter near its stern. A group of spectators watch from the scaffolding beside the slip, and below near the edge of the slip.
