His uniform includes a buttoned coat, badge, and a cap decorated with the number "3" surrounded by a laurel motif. He has a short goatee. Image is mounted on beige cardstock and includes a loose oval-shaped off-white paper frame with gold trim. - Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of Detroit Fire Commissioner Peter Henkel. Handwriting on the verso notes "ex-commissioner, Peter Henkel." This photograph is one of a series of eight photos of former Detroit Fire Department Commissioners. The decorative logo of the photographer's studio (Randall) has been torn off of the verso of the cabinet card photo. The proof bears the name of "Geo. Francis Train" at the bottom, and a stamp for "Randall, 220 & 222 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich.," is shown on the verso.

The fireman is wearing his uniform which includes a long, double-breasted coat, decorative belt, and cap. His shirt has been hand-colored in purple in the collar area. The badge on his coat has the handwritten number "2." (The copy photo shows the handwritten number "3" on his coat and the badge number on the cap also appears to be number 3.) Handwriting on the verso notes "Whitney B. Beattie."

- Black and white photograph of the exterior the John Kar Cafe at 2166 West Jefferson Avenue in Delray. Kar, wearing an apron and bowtie, poses in the doorway beside a small child and a man in a dark vest and hat. Two barbers, presumably Bela Benko and Charles Havasi, pose in front of the steps to their business below street level in the same building. A group of people stand on the sidewalk to the far right of the frame. A young child peers through the bar windows on the building's second floor. "John Kar Saloon 2166 W. Jefferson, Near Anderson front of Saloon 1910. John Kar with apron," is handwritten on the verso.

- Black and white panoramic group portrait of members of the Detroit Curling Club posed on the ice along the shore of Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe, taken during a curling event held by Horace Elgin Dodge on January 15, 1916. Forty men stand in the foreground, most holding curling brooms. Several curling stones are scattered among their feet. Many of the men wear Scottish tams. Horace Dodge's yacht, the NOKOMIS, is visible in the background on the right, beneath a cover for the winter. "Detroit Curling Club Guests of H.E. Dodge - Grosse Pt. Jan. 15th 1916," is printed along the bottom of the image. "Photo by Hal Wilson, 650 Mt. Elliott, Detroit," is printed in the lower right corner. The photo was previously framed with each subject numbered from 1 to 40 on the glass, going from the left to the right, however no key was included.

Armstrong, and Master Mechanic Francis Beaufait, as well as a photo of Detroit Fire Department Headquarters on the northeast corner of Wayne Street and Larned Street. Images of several pieces of firefighting equipment for a design surrounding the portrait of Battle, and the left edge of the image. A.G.
