- This scrapbook documents the participation of Alde Louise Tuck Blake (1857-1925) in the women's suffrage movement and in state and local politics. In 1899, Blake ran for (and won) a seat on the Grand Rapids School Board--the only elected office open to women. She became the third woman to serve and her success made many headlines. Blake was also involved in the suffrage movement. She served as an officer for the League of Women Voters as well as the Republican State Central Committee. In 1920 she ran for the state legislature. The scrapbook was compiled by Alde's daughter Dorothy. The original is located in the collections of the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan.

- Description:
- This blank ledger book consists of pasted-in prescription slips usually with the C. J. Rouser Capital Drug Store pharmacy logo at top, completed by area doctors (sometimes not signed, or just an initial). They have Bates numbering stamps or transcribed Bates numbers on them but most are not dated. The earliest dates seen on some are July 1906, and the latest September 1906. The pharmacy was located at 123 South Washington Avenue in downtown Lansing, Michigan, during the era of this ledger. Over the years they had other locations in the city, and were in business for well over a century. Due to the fragility of the ledger, it has not been digitized. Contact the library for more information.

- This collection contains one scrapbook, compiled by Louis "Louie" E. Van Blaricom of Lansing, concerning area athletics and other miscellaneous topics. The majority of the scrapbook is newspaper clippings dating from about 1922 to 1923, related to Lansing High School and Michigan Agricultural College football. Baseball teams from various locations are also a subject of the clippings in the book, and there is memorabilia such as banquet programs or season pass tickets for sports events as well. The back end papers have been covered with pasted-in calling cards. There are also loose items on the theme of Halloween (an illustrated napkin and small decorative items), football schedule cards, membership in the Lansing High School Sports Association cards, and a football banquet ticket. Van Blaricom was born in about 1904 and attended the Lansing High School. In the 1923 "Oracle" yearbook he is pictured as a member of the Senior B class of 1922-1923, and his affiliations included Football '22 (the Reserve team), Baseball '23 (as Pitcher), Science Club '23, and Class Baseball '22. His portrait from the 1923 yearbook is included here. Due to the fragility of the scrapbook, it has not been digitized. Contact the library for more information.

- Description:
- Contains one scrapbook compiled for Claud Erickson and several loose unidentified family portraits by Lansing photographers. The scrapbook is printed on the front with "Claud R. Erickson. President. The City Club of Lansing. 1970-1971." It contains newspaper clippings, "Newsline" newsletters, correspondence, and other items related to Claud Erickson's election as president of The City Club of Lansing. Claud Erickson was born in Manistee, Michigan in 1900, and died in 1993. He earned four engineering degrees from Michigan State University and worked for the Lansing Board of Water and Light for 50 years, serving for a time as director and ultimately having the Erickson Station plant named after him. He was also involved in many other sectors including Ingham County Chairman of U.S. Treasury Savings Bond Drive, the Red Cross, and the MSU Foundation, among others. The seven loose photographs appear to be from much earlier and have no relation to the scrapbook of the City Club. They have not been digitized. One photo is dated 1892. This collection was donated by Jim Perkins.

- This scrapbook contains approximately 100 pages of newspaper clippings collected by Alfred Seymour. The clippings cover a wide variety of topics and people, many of whom appear to have been friends and acquaintances of Chief Seymour from Detroit, Lansing, and elsewhere. Many of the clippings are local obituaries and marriage announcements. There are several loose items in the book, including some receipts for tuition at M.A.C. and membership in women's guilds for Maude Seymour. Due to the item's fragility it has not been digitized in full, only its cover. An index to death notices, obituaries, engagement, marriage, and anniversary announcements found in the scrapbook is linked below. Most announcements do not include a date or newspaper source. Contact the library for more information.
