This "Miniature Chest" is the Rosewood Cabinet Series was created to stand alone or could sit on other pieces in the series of cabinets designed by Nelson, George.

- This Dresser, from the collection of the Public Museum of Grand Rapids, consists of four drawers with brass drawer pulls. The four legs are carved and have casters. An oak and walnut veneer covers the top, sides, front and mirror frame. The dresser is made complete with a mirror that has the dimensions of 49. 75" wide, 2" deep, and 36" high. - This Product Literature, in the collection of The Henry Ford, contains information related to Herman Miller Product Number 3317 in the "Modern Series. " This series was designed by Gilbert Rohde for the "Design for Living" house at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair, A Century of Progress.
The literature states:
"The veneers used are Castano and Sequoia burl inlaid with English Harewood. The Castano and Sequoia burl are finished a rich brown and the Harewood a silver grey. The trimmings are brushed chromium.
These pieces were used in the master bedroom of this home which was one of the most attractive at the Chicago exposition. the pre-dominating colors in the room were various shades of blues, grey and white. "
