Karanis; Textiles; Wool

Notes:
Small fragment of woven wool fabric with two rows of red weft-twining and a 3.5 cm wide green/blue band with linen tapestry and weft-wrapping to form patterns. The intact edge of the green/blue band appears to be scalloped because of the small linen tapestry elements. The weft-wrapping is too deteriorated to discern patterning. There is a double row of countered weft-twining close to the green/blue band. There is a large knot between the two parts. 0.5 cm from this row there is another, narrower row of red weft-twining. The twining loops pass over two warps each. There is one stitch in a corner.
