The map is printed in black ink on slightly yellowed paper and shows counties, cities, towns, roads, lakes, and major rivers. Lines of latitude and longitude are shown with the lines of longitude being shown relative to Washington, D.C. A small inset map in the upper right corner shows "The North West Part of Michigan." A table of steamboat routes and distances is shown along the right edge. The map is drawn at an approximate scale of 1 inch = 22 miles. Printed text beneath the title shows "Roads, Distances & c. by J. H. Young, Philadelphia; Published by S. Augustus Mitchell." Printed text in the lower left corner shows "Reproduced by Beurmann-Marshall, Inc., Lansing, Michigan," and was probably printed c.1957.
