Karanis; Textiles; Wool

Notes:

Large fragment of woven wool fabric with many narrow brown bands. The bands vary from 0.1 cm to 2 cm wide, the narrowest being only two picks wide. In between, the weft is yellow. The piece is very fragmented with some parts attached by only a few threads. A bundle of unspun wool is caught up in some of the loose threads. There is part of a selvedge along one edge.
