Karanis; Textiles; Wool

Notes:
Fragment of woven wool fabric with yellowed warp and weft and a 3.3 cm wide dark green weft band with a few remnants of linen weft-wrapping. There are also remnants of small linen slit tapestry elements along the edge of the dark green band. There are two adjacent rows of countered weft-twining 1.5 cm from the green band. There is a short remnant of one row of twining next to the edge of the green band. The twining loops pass over two warps each. One edge was folded and sewn and there are a few matted pieces of similar fabric that have been attached by sewing.
