Weidman Gas Station Uptown Saline

Weideman Gas Station located next to 118 E. Michigan Avenue. William Kinsley standing by pumps. Picture taken 1931-1932. Car seen in window of garage is a 1932 Model B. The station was there in 1921. My mother was 13 when she moved to Saline and the station was there then.; William Kinsley lived most of his life at 214 N. Ann Arbor Street, Saline. He worked at the creamery on Monroe Street until it closed. He then began working as a paperhanger and painter. Also worked at Weidman's Gas Station evenings. Also worked at Art Armbruster Station at the corner of N. Ann Arbor Street and Bennett Street. He worked there when they went on vacation or deer hunting. In later years he was a janitor at the Saline Savings Bank when it was where the Great Lakes Bank is now.; He was married to Lydia Hack. She died in 1942. They had one son, Lauren Kinsley, who worked for the Michigan Daily for 40 years. He died in 1983. Mr. Kinsley had three granddaughters, three grandsons and two great-grandchildren when he died in 1954.
