The plan consists of black ink on heavy tan paper and shows plan, profile, and top views of one of the stone embrasures in the fort walls. The drawing is shown at a scale of 1 inch = 1 foot. Handwritten text beneath the title shows "Copied from a sketch made by Genl. J. G. Totten, C.E. [Civil Engineer], U.S.A., Sept. 11, 1863."
