City Seal Parade Float

Description:
A float for the 1969 Rochester Centennial Parade. The float holds a large replica of the Rochester City Seal and text that reads "Rochester Michigan 1869-Centennial-1969." The float is surrounded by a white picket fence that has another sign which reads "The Festive Year 1969." The city seal features four symbols: a castle, representing Rochester's mother city of Rochester, Englandan Oak Leaf for Oakland Township, a hammer for industry and a torch for education.
