Letter from Florence Nightingale to Lt. Gen. Fife about possible budget cuts to Public Works

Description:
In this letter to Lt. Gen. Fife, Nightingale expresses her concerns regarding the budget cuts the Public Works was facing, which would seriously diminish the irrigation improvements that were vital to the improvement of the lives of untold Indians. She goes on to ask Lt. Gen. Fife his opinion of a Revenue Report, which talks about budget cuts. She also asked if he had met with Mr. Prinsep about these topics and the idea of colonizing waste lands for indigenous peoples. Nightingale requests that Lt. Gen. Fife share his opinions in writing by that same evening.
