Check, printed by the Calvert Lithographing Company, from the office of Parker, Holmes, and Company--successors to Mowry and Company--for the amount of $35.25 to the Second National Bank, dated June 6, 1874. The check is to charge to account of John Whitely of Lansing Michigan. The corner of the check is printed with an advertisement for Parker, Holmes, and Company's Nerve Chewing Tobacco, depicting a sailor who has climbed up a flag pole to nail a banner bearing the product's name.
