Western Michigan at work

Description:
In this installment of "Western Michigan at work," Dr. Willis Dunbar profiles the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company. Dunbar describes the history of the Grand Trunk as it grew and began buying up various locally built rail lines until it operated almost 1000 miles of rail lines in Michigan. Dunbar interviews Lewis Einhardt, a freight train conductor for Grand Trunk Western, about his schedule and responsibilities. Dunbar also interviews Frank Lock, industrial Commissioner of the Grand Trunk Western, who discusses the ways the rail company partners with the communities it serves to bring in industries that will use their rail lines.
