One map entitled "An Improved Edition of a Map of the Surveyed Part of the Territory of Michigan by Silas Farmer, 1835." The map is printed in black ink on white paper and includes color lines at the map border and county borders. It shows the state, county, and township boundary lines in the southern portion of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan as well as northern Indiana and Ohio. The principal meridian and base line for Michigan are shown along with township and range numbers for the public land survey of the state. Cities, towns, and major rivers are also indicated. Areas of private (French) claims are shown along the Raisin River and Detroit River. Inset maps are shown for the Straits of Mackinac, Green Bay, and Iowa County near the junction of the Mississippi and Little Platte Rivers. Lines of latitude are also shown and lines of longitude are given relative to "Washington City" (Washington, D.C.). Printed text beneath the title indicates that the map was engraved by "J. [John] Farmer." Detached is the leather hard-cover entitled "Farmer's Map of Michigan".
