One partially completed drawing of a proposed automobile

Description:
One partially completed drawing of a proposed automobile. The drawing consists of black pencil on heavy paper and shows top, end, and longitudinal cross-section views of a proposed rear-engine vehicle. Various internal and exterior details are shown including the body, steering and suspension components, and seats. The top and longitudinal views show a "flexible shaft" that was intended to operate the radiator fan at the front of the auto and would run along the side of the vehicle to the engine at the rear. Handwritten pencil notes near the lower left corner of the sheets list several steering system design advantages and disadvantages. The drawing is signed "JSB [James Scripps Booth], 10-28-1918, Layout No. 3."
