Barn Raising on Ed Barnes Farm

Description:

A barn raising at Ed Barne's farm located on the south side of Silverbell Road just east of Brewster Road. Portions of the frame were assembled on the ground. The crew raised them using rope, muscle and horses. Women prepared meals. The roof and siding were added a later day. The property was purchased by Barne's father sometime before 1872.
