fragment with alternating red and black squares; Karanis; Textiles; Wool
- Notes:
- Small fragment of woven wool fabric with red warp and red and green/blue weft alternating to form “checkerboard” patterns. The rectangles of one half are larger (1.3 cm to 1.6 cm wide) than the recangles of the other half (mostly 0.7 cm wide). The pattern is double faced with colors alternating from one face to the other. (taquete)
