Karanis; Textiles; Wool; undecorated

Notes:
Small fragment of yellowed woven wool fabric with twining along one edge. There is extensive damage but one row appears to be countered red and the other row is countered, half red and half yellow. The twining loops pass over two warps each. At the opposite edge there is an area of darning repair. There is red stitching near the twining. A small piece of the same fabric was sewn on along one edge. Along the edge opposite from the attached piece, the wefts encircle the outside warp. Possible dove-tail tapestry?
