The view looks northward (upstream) near the bank of the Rouge River and shows the new single leaf Strauss trunnion bascule bridge with its lift span in the raised position. One of the two massive concrete counterweights can be seen near the ground surface at the base of the structure. The new 2-story brick building for the bridge operator can be seen on the far right side of the photo.
