Black and white photograph, mounted on board, of the parlor of a home that was located at 126 E. Congress. The room has a fireplace, piano, rococo furniture, and portrait paintings. A typed caption on the back of the mounting reads "The parlor of a 3-story brick house on East Congress Street and the corner of Beaubien. It was the home of Alexis Chapoton, (also known as Alexander Chapoton, Sr.) and his wife the former Felice Montreuil of Walkerville, Ont. They were married Feb. 5, 1839."
