Olds Cars in Parade

Description:
Original parade photograph of an 1897 Olds towing a wagon float with a horse, advertising Olds Gasoline Engines, "Engines Below." R. E. Olds is in the driver's seat with his daughter in the back of the '97 Olds. Possibly the earliest known image of the 1897 gas powered motor vehicle and its inventor. If the date on the back of the photograph is correct, it was taken five days before the Olds Motor Vehicle Company, the first organized auto manufacturer in the state of Michigan, would be formed.
