Michigan State University senior Nimesh Patel says he is majoring in social science and psychology and hopes to earn a law degree and a doctorate in international relations and finally join the foreign service. Patel talks about his Indian heritage, his parents, their emphasis on education, the sacrifices made by their families, and the professional pursuits of his sisters. Patel describes the village his father came from and says that his own visit to India changed the way he looks at the world and made him more appreciative of life in the U.S. He also talks about the adjustment to college life and socializing with students from all over the country.
