Raw Silk Day Coat with Scalloped Edge Around Front Buttons, 1933

Description:: Natural colored raw silk day coat with lining of royal blue silk with orange polka dots. Accents include a scalloped edge around the buttons and button holes down the front opening, a yoke top, four large self covered buttons and a flap sailor collar in the back. The raglan sleeves have turned up cuffs with button accents. The entire coat is cut full and has two patch pockets. This item was owned by Frances Dodge (November 27, 1914 – January 24, 1971), who was the eldest daughter of John Francis Dodge (co-founder of Dodge Motor Company) and his third wife, Matilda Rausch Dodge (Wilson).
