Description:
Certificate presented to Russell A. Alger by the Sons of the American Revolution in 1899. The certificate is stamped with the gold seal of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Text of the certificate is as follows: "The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution hereby presents a medal of honor to compatriot Russell A. Alger in recognition of his patriotic service during the War with Spain in 1898. By resolution of the Annual Congress of the Society, at Detroit, Michigan, May 1st, 1899." The certificate is then signed by the President General, the Secretary General, and the Registrar General.
