- A letter from Ralph Emery, a clerk working for the Detroit Stove Works, to his father, Robert T. Emery, in Belfast, Maine, dated July 22, 1888. The letter is written on Detroit Stove Works letterhead, which features a lithograph, credited to the Calvert Lithograph Company, depicting the Detroit Stove Works offices in Detroit and Chicago as well as the company's foundry in Hamtramck, Michigan. The letter reads: My dear Father, Have not written you for some days for have been so busy have not had time. Worked a number of nights last week + Sunday worked all day + all night so have been a little broken up - but will be all right in a few days. We are very busy in many ways, more so than usual + expect to be for some time. Will Morison telegraphed he would be in Detroit Wednesday night but train was five hours late. Thursday took him about the City, Enjoyed his stay very much - He was delighted with Detroit. He left for Chicago at 10 o'clock. Tonight is the Michigan Club Banquet + will probably have a lending to from Gov. Alger for President. Hope he will get the nomination, he could make a fine President. Has a perfectly clean record, made an unusually good Governor, is one of the best business men in the Country. Don't suppose there is much new in Belfast. Have not heard from there for sometime. Hope you will write when you find time. See by papers Mr. + Mrs. Hazeltine + Mrs. White have gone to Jacksonville - Give my regards to all - you'll have to close as have not time to write more at present. Your affec. son, Ralph Emery

- "Weekly Time Book" printed by Berry Brothers Varnishes, softcover, 1905. The outside cover is gray/tan in color with black text. The inside pages have pre-printed lines and columns to keep track of workmen's weekly wages. Names and wage data have been handwritten in black ink throughout the book for the year 1905. However, the name of the company is not indicated. The initials, "C.F., Sr." and "C.F., Jr." appear at the end of each weekly time/wage account. Possibly, they are the company owners.

- Catalog from the Detroit Stove Works with a stiff gray, black and orange cardboard cover. The front cover reads "Detroit Stove Works Price List; Feb 1., 1994; Jewel Stoves; Offices and Salesrooms 32 and 34 Woodward Avenue; Foundry and Warehouse at Hamtramck." The catalog's printing is attributed to William Graham of Detroit, Michigan. Contained within it are prices, images, measurements and advertising information for Jewel Stoves and Ranges, as well as accessories for them, from 1884. On the back cover is an image of a "Brilliant Jewel Base Burner" model stove.

- One tax receipt, dated December, 14, 1871, issued by the Wayne County Treasurer's Office in Detroit. It was printed in black text on white paper and indicated that the Richmond & Backus Company paid $9.32 for state and county taxes on property located in the Brush Farm Subdivision, namely, "Lot 3, Blk. 1." The receipt was signed by "James Collins, Dty. [Deputy] County Treasurer."

On the recto is an illustration of a single-masted ship sailing on green waters, with four daubs of paint in the upper left corner of the palette. "Garland Stoves and Ranges" is printed at the top of the recto.

- One promissory note, dated November 13, 1869, that was issued by the Richmond & Backus Company. It was printed in black text on white paper. The note terms were handwritten in black ink text and indicated that $250 was to be paid to John C. Worthington on May 13, 1871, at the Second National Bank of Detroit. A handwritten endorsement on the verso indicated that the note was assigned to Rev. George Worthington.

- One advertisement sheet entitled "List No. 1, Campaign Supplies Made by E. A. Armstrong." The sheet is printed in black text on white paper on both sides and also shows colored drawings of various hats, helmets, coats, capes, and belts that were available for sale. The company was located at "261 and 263 Woodward Ave." and "114 and 116 Washington Avenue, Detroit, Mich." The items were intended for use at political and military conventions.

- Trade card from the Michigan Stove Company advertising Garland Stoves and Ranges. A lithograph on the recto depicts an elderly woman in a bonnet running a comb through the hair of a red-haired girl that is sitting on her lap. The card's title, "Patience and Impatience," is printed across the bottom of the recto. The Garland Stoves and Ranges logo is featured in the upper left corner of the recto. An advertisement for Garland Stoves and Ranges, stressing the importance of buying genuine Garland products, is on the verso. Written at the bottom of the verso is the name "Eliza."
