- Half-folded menu from a dinner for the graduating class of the University of Michigan's Department of Medicine tendered by Parke, Davis and Company at the Russell House on Wednesday, June 10, 1903. The menu consists of two half-folded sheets of beige paper, one glued inside the other. A program of musical selections to be performed by the Russell House Orchestra led by L. Alberti is contained within beside the menu of dinner courses. The hotel's crest is printed on the back cover.

- First card of a six trade card set from the Michigan Stove Company advertising Garland Stoves and Ranges, entitled "Before & After Marriage In Five Acts," drawn by Cassius M. Coolidge and copyrighted by George M. Hayes. This is the title card to the set. On the recto is the title of the set, artist/copyright information, and the Michigan Stove Company name alongside an image of a red gear with the words "Buy Garland Stoves and Ranges" written inside it. On the verso is an advertisement for Garland Stoves and Ranges featuring the slogan "A good article will always bring its value, to secure the best buy Garland Stoves and Ranges."

- Sealed D.M Ferry and Company envelope addressed to Mr. W.H. Greenell of Pierpont Manor, New York. The envelope is printed with a Calvert Lithograph Company engraving of the D.M. Ferry and Company Seed Warehouse above a logo which reads, "D.M. Ferry & Co. Seed Merchants, Growers & Importers, Detroit, Mich." The envelope is postmarked Detroit, February 3, 1886, and bears a two cent brown George Washington stamp. A Pierrepont Manor, New York, February 4, 1886 postmark is on the verso.

- One power of attorney agreement, dated 19 June 1866, where Arouet Richmond, Benjamin B. Richmond, and Frederick H. A. Backus of Richmond & Backus of Detroit appointed "A. Lubnoth" of New York City to act a a lawful attorney on their behalf. All parties have signed their names at the end of the agreement in the presence of two witnesses, "R. C. Sm--h" and "E. V. C----" [both illegible]. An embossed "Seal of the Circuit Court of Wayne County, Michigan," is located near the lower left corner of the page.

- Pricelist, printed on paper, for Bloomgarden and Ellenstein Wholesale Fruits and Produce, dated August 22nd, 1894. The front cover features the header "Quotations," followed by the logo for Bloomgarden and Ellenstein. Underneath the logo and company name is a list of fruits and produce, including peaches, pears, plums, grapes, apples, and melons. The Office and Warehouse location is listed as "44 Griswold Street Detroit Michigan." Text underneath the address reads "These quotations are issued in the interest of shippers of all kinds of fruit with prices made from actual sales on day of issue, which date will be found on the next page." At the bottom of the cover is text reading "References: Peoples Savings Bank Detroit. Dun's and Bradstreets Mercantile Agency. Any Jobbing House in Detroit." The back cover features a note from Bloomgard and Ellenstein reading as follows: "We will breifly [sic] state that this season we consider ourselves in a position to handle your shipments with the best results obtainable. Our location being prominent with easy access to all railroad and boat lines and at the entrance of our main market street where all dealers in this line must pass the secret of heavy sales is to have heavy receipts which will all ways bring the best prices. To obtain these results for your benefit as well as our own we suggest that you make good shipments every day as prices will naturally vary and in having your shipments on the market regular you are sure to catch the high prices when they come which is enough invariably to more than cover any difference in low prices which may chance to take place. Look to us for your success this season and you will be pleased with our judgment and system of doing business. Truly yours Bloomgarden and Ellenstein" The interior page contains the price list, listing fruits and produce such as apples, peaches, plums, pears, grapes, huckleberries, blackberries, and muskmelons, with prices per barrel, bushel, pound, and crate. It also contains a note of advice from Bloomgarden and Ellenstein reading as follows: "We advise you to ship regular each day, by so doing we can assure you of good results as we will keep you posted on prices and make returns every day. Our quotations are always reliable and made from actual sales, you will always find our system perfect. And promptness our motto. If you ship car lots wire at our expense for market. Respectfully Bloomgarden & Ellenstein 44 Griswold St. Detroit, Mich."

- One copyright registration, "No. 69 I," dated January 3, 1878, issued by the "Library of Congress, Copyright Office, Washington." The registration form is printed in black text on white paper and includes blank lines that have been completed in handwritten black ink text. It indicates that a copyright was issued to the Richmond & Backus Company of Detroit for a "Book or Form" which is described in more specific detail in handwritten text. The registration form was signed in the lower right corner by "A. R. [Ainsworth Rand] Spofford, Librarian of Congress." An oval-shaped embossed seal of the Copyright Office is located in the upper left corner of the form.

- Letter from D.M. Ferry and Company to the Suttle and Jones Company of Felix, Alabama, dated December 20, 1910. The letter is about the shipment of a special order of seed made to Selma. It also tells of improvements made to the style of "our 5 cent papers," which are lithographed. The letter is printed on company letterhead, listing executives.

- Handwritten letter from Henry Schoolcraft of 846 Clinton Boulevard, Michilimackinac to Charles Christopher Trowbridge of Detroit, dated September 2, 1838, sent accompanying devalued money from the wildcat bank, Bank of Clinton. Schoolcraft uses the Ojibwe words, "Ka. onishishin," to describe the currency. "Ka" means "no," and Schoolcraft, in his book, "The American Indians: Their History, Condition and Prospects, From Original Notes and Manuscripts," defines "onishishin" as "that which is good, or fair." The letter reads: Michilimackinac, Sept. 2nd 1838 My dear fri, On returning from a short trip to Lake Superior I found $46 of Clinton money, in my pocketbook to have, in the meantime, become Ka. onishishin. I take the liberty of enclosing it to you, with a request that you will sell it, for what it is worth, or do whatever else you please with it, and be accountable for [?] here after. I add, that I received every dollar of it, from Mr. Wells, as past pay on a check from Maj. G. for salary. Truly yours Henry R. Schoolcraft C.C. Trowbridge Esq. Detroit The recipient and sender's names are handwritten on the verso, in such a way to be visible after the letter is folded.
