Snow can be seen on the street and a horse-drawn sled is visible near the center of the photo. A smoky haze hangs overhead along the street in the background. Many spectators are standing in the street and fire hoses can be seen in the snow.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing the ruins of Harmonie Hall and the Boydell Bros. Building after a fire. The view shows the fronts and one side of the charred remains of the brick and stone buildings. Many spectators can be seen on the street near the two buildings. Handwriting on the verso shows "Harmonie Hall & Boydell Bros. Bldg., SW corner of Beaubien and Champlain (now E. Lafayette), October 14, 1893."

- Sepia-toned glossy photo showing a fire at the First Congregational Church. The view shows the charred remains of the steeple and roofline although the exterior walls do not appear to be damaged. Two fire department ladders are visible on the left side of the building, one is at the front, and another is at the far right side. One of the fire department ladder company wagons (number not visible) and a steam pumper can be seen in the lower right area of the photo. Many spectators can be seen on the streets adjacent to the church. Handwriting on the verso shows "First Congregational Church, built 1863, Fort & Wayne Streets, later used by Detroit Journal."
