Speaking at the MSU Main Library, DeLind describes the project and its mission to establish farms in urban areas, provide fresh food to urban residents, and teach agriculture while building community. She also describes how the land was selected, acquired, plotted, and plans for the future. DeLind is introduced by MSU Librarian Kriss Ostrom. - Alex Bryan, Program Manager for the Greater Lansing Food Bank Garden Project delivers a talk entitled, "Food Field: A Four-Acre Detroit Urban Farm." Bryan describes the efforts of himself and his business partner Noah Link, to create a sustainable organic farm in urban Detroit as a real alternative to the corporate food system. He says that they are also striving to create jobs and to build robust and ongoing relationships with local restaurants and grocers. Questions are taken from the audience.
