Philadelphia: Published by S. Augustus Mitchell 1836. Sold by Mitchell & Hinman No. 6 North Fifth Street." The top right portion of the map features a listing of principal steam boat routes, including Detroit to Buffalo, Detroit to Fort Gratiot, Detroit to Chicago, and Niles to St. Joseph, indicating the distance to various points along those routes. The perimeter of the map indicates lines of latitude and longitude. Text along the bottom edge of the map reads "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1834 by S.
