- Landscaping used to breakup the hard surfaces and form the area for parking spaces. The view looks northwest toward the southern end of the west side of the 200 block of Washington Square South. At the corner, at 234 Washington Square South was Touch of Class art and craft store. Next, Kimmel's greeting cards at 228, Fanny Farmer candy at 226 and the Vogue clothing at 224. Behind the stores can be seen the Michigan National Bank parking ramp; the ramp was later demolished due to damage from salt-caused corrosion. To the right of the ramp, or north, is the rear of the Masonic Temple that faces on South Capitol Avenue. The photo is printed on photographer's proofing paper intended for short term use only and has cropping marks and other annotations.
