South of East Washtenaw Street is seen Shaw's Jewelers at 301 South Washington Avenue. The north side of East Washtenaw is also seen in the background: Ellison Book Shop at 101, Pacific Finance Loans at 107, American Laundry at 111 and Hal Clark tailor at 121 East Washtenaw Street. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo incorrectly (it is actually East Washtenaw below the writing, "West Washtenaw"). The photo was also trimmed for display.

Next, Norris Jewelry Repair at 103, Phoenix Optical at 105, Pacific Finance Loans at 107, American Laundry at 111, Downtown Parking Lot at 117, Hal Clark Tailors at 121 and American Bank and Trust at 123 East Washtenaw Street. An automobile is seen turning into East Washtenaw from South Grand Avenue. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo. The photo's emulsion has been lost in a small area at the bottom of the photo.

View, looking in a southwesterly direction, includes part of downtown, extends to Oldsmobile factories to the south, beyond Logan Street (Martin Luther King Boulevard) to the west, and Ionia Street to the north. A rubberstamp imprint "File Copy" partly obscures the Lewis Cass Building. On the reverse is the creator's file number 5125A and the date, December 26, 1969.
