- A book of receipts bound in cardboard. The receipts are for medicines received from Thomas P. Dickinson, for medicines to be resold on commission. The medicines listed on each receipt are Dickinson's Universal C. & C. Annihilator, Dickinson's Universal Life Pills, Dickinson's Universal Strengthening Plaster, and Dickinson's Universal Healing Salve. Only the first three receipts have been filled out. They are all dated 1885. The first is signed by A. Ruttedge, the second by G.R. Roburn, and the third by J. Thatcher. The prices are all expressed in pounds sterling.

The recto bears a color image of a small girl in a pink dress holding a basket of flowers as two doves roost on her. Calendars for January through December 1894 are printed on the verso as well as an advertisement for Hoyt's German Cologne which cautions against "the numerous trashy Colognes that usurp its name and style of bottle." Prices are listed at 25 cents for a trial size, 50 cents for medium size, and one dollar for a large bottle. "For sale by J.C. The invoice is printed on letterhead including lithographs of Frederick Stearns and Company's Detroit laboratory, Windsor laboratory, and New York Office, as well as a coat of arms with a shield divided party per chevron and charged with three crosses, and a bird as a crest. The letterhead lists Frederick Kimball Stearns as the president, Frank C. McLaughlin as the vice president and treasurer, and Thomas Bennett as the secretary. "Bill F Stearns," is handwritten on the verso.

- Advertisement mailed by George P. Way of 30 Adelaide Street, Detroit, Michigan to James T. Thing of 313 North Greenleaf Avenue, Whittier, California. Included are an envelope, return envelope, order form, advertisement for the Blowena, and a type-written letter. Way writes, on behalf of his Artificial Ear Drum Company, attempting to persuade Thing to purchase both an artificial ear drum, as well as a device called the Blowena for seven dollars. The included advertisement explains that the Blowena is a rubber tube intended to relieve "catarrh, hay fever, cold in the head and influenza, or any irritation of the nose and throat, but particularly for CATARRHAL DEAFNESS" by allowing a user to blow air from their mouth, through the device where a medicated sponge is housed, into their ear. "Let us hear the conclusion of tile whoe mutter. Hear good until ref his command for this is the whole thing [sic]" is handwritten in pencil on the verso of the envelope.

The invite is quarter folded. The cover of the invite is printed with a design composed of the entwined letters D,M, and C. along with the passage: Detroit, March 2, 1879 The Faculty of the Detroit Medical College respectfully invite yourself and family to attend their Eleventh Annual Commencement Exercises, to be held at the Opera House (Campus Martius), on the Evening of Tuesday, March 4th, at 8 o'clock precisely. (Over) The Order of Exercises is printed within, including orchestral music, a prayer, the ceremony, an address, and a poem. Both the invitation and envelope bear the imprint of E.B. Smith and Company, Printers.
