- Booklet containing the Ninth Annual Report of the Commissioners of Parks and Boulevards to the Common Council of the City of Detroit from July 1, 1897 to June 30, 1898. The report contains information concerning the physical and financial states of various Detroit parks, including Belle Isle, Clark Park, Palmer Park, and Grand Circus Park, in addition to photographs and illustrations of scenes from various parks. This particular copy contains an insert affixed to the title page reading "To David Parsons: Compliments of... Edw. C. Van Lewyen. Commissioner."

- Ledger. A ledger book, presumably maintained by the Public Lighting Commission which recorded issues reported with streetlights, maintained from November 1, 1913 to December 14, 1913. The columns appear to record the date, the location of the light, who made the report, a pair of unclear abbreviations, a pair of times, the issue with the light, a name (generally Saunders, occasionally Jones), and when and how they were fixed. The reoccurring entries for the source of the report are "patrol," "police," "citizen," and "lady."

- One booklet entitled "Annual Report of the Controller of the City Detroit for the Fiscal Year Ending January 31, 1873." The report is bound in black leather and has the title stamped in gold-colored lettering on the front cover. It is printed in black text on white paper and contains 155 pages that list the various accounts, account balances, and expenditures of the city for the previous year. An index is included in the front of the report along with a list of council member, city officers, commissioners, and inspectors. The inside front page has an embossed stamp that shows "Richmond & Backus, Stationers, Detroit, Mich."

- Booklet (2 copies). The Fourth Annual Report of the Public Lighting Commission of the City of Detroit, Michigan, a 70 page booklet. Within are charts, and graphs detailing the operations of the Public Lighting Commission for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1899. Also included are photographic plates depicting a the exterior of the office and station buildings, generator room, a boiler room, details of streetlight fixtures, a moonlight tower, a crane light, a center suspension light, a post light, and plans of the public lighting station.

- One map entitled "Public Lighting Commission, Locations of Street Lights." The map is printed in black ink on thin vellum paper and shows the locations of single pole lights and tower lights throughout the city. Streets, street names, railroad lines, and ward boundary lines are also shown. The map was "Lithographed & Published by the Calvert Lith. & Eng. Co., Detroit" and is dated 1897.

The view shows a gravel area and paved area in the foreground. The multi-story brick power plant building with five tall and two short exhaust smokestacks can be seen in the background. The number, "No. D540," and date, "12-17-12," are written in the lower right corner of the photo. Handwritten text on the verso shows "Delray #2."

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing a railroad bridge under construction over the Rouge River. Printed text in the lower left corner of the photo shows the number, "43," and "M.C.R.R. River Rouge Bascule Bridge; Erecting Lift Span; Mar. 27, 1920. Photo W. B. James, Insp." The view looks southeastward from the bank of the Rouge River and shows the truss structure that supports the bridge counterweights and lift span. The lift span is located at the far right side of the structure and a construction crane is lifting one of the structural members into position. The 2-story brick building for the bridge operator can be seen at the far left side of the photo. Near the center of the photo, a sign on the top of the river bank shows "Cables, Do Not Drag Anchor."

Printed text in the lower left corner of the photo shows "Lonyo Road Sewer, Where the Waste Pile Went Down; Aug. 30, 1919; [W. B.] James Photo." The view shows a waste pile of excavated material in the foreground and the area that collapsed (marked by arrow). This collapsed pile caused the adjacent sewer grade line to heave upward. The sewer trench is located to the left of the Walbridge Aldinger Co. shovel crane.
