- Lansing Jaycees. This collection includes a wide range of administrative and program material, as well as scrapbooks, awards, and other documentation of Jaycees activities since the founding in 1929. The majority of the material dates from the 1970s to the 1990s. The collection has not been fully processed. The Container List here is taken from a rough inventory of the material done in 2015-2016. Jaycees history: The Lansing Jaycees were founded in November 1929. The father of the Michigan Jaycees, Bill Otto, helped organize the Lansing chapter and guided it throughout the earliest years of its history. The chapter began existence with 74 members, and has provided many different types of service and support to the greater Lansing area, from planting thousands of flower beds to improvement of land and facilities at the Capital City Airport.

- Description:
- These records from the Lansing Business Men's Association document some of the organization's activities in helping to establish Lansing as the home of several strong industries in the early 20th century. Although the records are incomplete and sometimes fragmentary, minutes, memos, and other material point to the group's efforts in purchasing land that was then sold to businessmen such as R. E. Olds, and in the oversight of the paving of Michigan Avenue "macadam road" from the Capitol to M. A. C. (Michigan State University). Lists of factories in the area, three unattributed speeches, and financial records are also included in the collection. Most material is organized in files by year. The Lansing Business Men's Association was in existence from its founding in 1901, through 1911 when it was reconfigured to follow the chamber of commerce model that existed in many cities already. - Materials related to the International Association of Chiefs of Police annual conventions, and some side activities such as a trip to Havana after a St. Petersburg (Florida) convention, and the International Association of Identification conference. The majority of this group is programs, for the convention sessions themselves, as well as banquet dinners and luncheons, and entertainment provided at the events. There is some related memorabilia from trips and tours such as tickets and brochures. The materials were Seymour's own, and some contain his handwritten notes.
