- Woman's navy blue wool coat in a below-the-knee length. The princess line coat is single breasted, and its front seams end in pleats on the breast and skirt. The long narrow sleeves are decorated with a large triangular panel of drawn thread work. The coat has a false collar of drawn thread, wide padded shoulders, and six large buttons with a faint wood grain. It is lined with navy taffeta. Label: Hattie Carnegie, Inc.

- Woman's black and white wool tweed coat with an all-in-one collar and lapels that turn into a single button closure coat. Red wool is used for the lining, and is the trim at the side front pleats. - This woman's golden brown plush cloak was purchased at Newcomb Endicott. The ankle length coat is single breasted with twelve mother of pearl buttons. Tight sleeves with slight puff at shoulder, rounded stand-up collar edged with rust color ostrich feathers. Shaped for bustle in the back, and slit from hem to waist. Yoke, sleeves, front, slit, and hem are decorated with black braid in an elaborate pattern. Lined with brown satin. Worn by donor's cousin, Augusta D. Von Schrader, a Detroit schoolteacher. Fur Trim. Au Bon Marche.

- This woman's silk plush evening coat has sleeves of heavy grosgrain silk gathered into large puff on top. The round fur (probably fox)stand-up collar is two and a half inches in height. The fur continues down the right side to the hips. There are four large buttons in the back, and another four are in the front. The coat fastens with hooks and eyes, and has a dark brown silk twill lining. The garment was bought at Taylor-Woolfenden, Detroit. Worn by Jane Lynn Patterson, whose husband was an undertaker. Original cost was $150.00.

- Women's knee-length, knubby textured brown and black wool coat. The double breasted coat has a narrow collar, and a lapel of black wool. It is fitted over the chest, and flares out at the hips. The flare is increased by padding on the hips The sleeves stop a little short of the wrists. Graduated size buttons. The coat was purchased by the donor in 1955 or 1956 at Julie's Inc. for $350.00. - This black crepe, loose-fitting women's coat has a very wide black Persian lamb fur collar. The long, loose sleeves are heavily embroidered with flower and leaf patterns in rust, turquoise and gold metallic threads. The coat is fastened by one button at the center front and a snap at the throat. The lining is rust colored crepe. Label: "Importers, B. Siegel Co., Detroit, Mich."

- This man's beaver fur overcoat is double breasted and fastens in the front with five "frogs" and ten fur covered buttons. it has a slash pocket on each side, and two breast pockets in its interior. The sleeves have turn-back cuffs, and the coat is lined with black sateen. The beaver pelts were obtained from American Indians living north of Grand Marais on Lake Superior in 1883. The pelts were sent to New York City to be dressed. They were then returned to Detroit, and made into an overcoat by Dickerson & Co which was located at 80 Woodward Avenue (old number). It was made for Ira F. Holt who was a ship owner, and had passenger boats running from Duluth down the north shore of Lake Superior.
