- One drawing of Fort Wayne. The drawing consists of black ink and pencil on heavy tan paper and shows a plan view of the walls as well as the gun platform layout of the fort. Gun platform numbers are indicated along with certain fort dimensions. A small inset drawing in the upper right corner area includes notes that show "Outline of Interior Crest of Old Work. Used in laying out work and making drawings; determined as accurately as practicable from measurements of the different fronts in April, 1863. J.J.L. [J. J. Lee]" and "Note. The bottom of new scarp was laid out 43 feet from & parallel with the old crest, except on faces of East Bastion, where it is 45' 3"."

- One navigational chart entitled, "Chart No. 1 of River Ste. Marie from Point Iroquois to East Neebish." The area was "Surveyed under the direction of Captain J. N. Macomb, Topl. Engrs. [Topographical Engineers] in 1853, 1854, & 1855, with additions to date under the orders of Captain G. G. Meade, Topl. Engrs., 1857." The chart was drawn at a scale of 1:40,000 and covers several miles of the St. Mary's River both upstream and downstream of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, with information such as soundings in feet, river bottom characteristics, shoreline details, lighthouses, and sailing directions. The chart was printed in black ink on white paper and was published by the Bureau of Topographical Engineers of the War Department (later known as the Army Corps of Engineers). Small printed text in the lower right corner shows "Engraved by W. H. Dougal." Small printed text in the lower left corner shows "Reduced for Engraving by J. U. Mueller."

- Color postcard depicting a line of steamships caught in the ice near Sault Ste. Marie. In the foreground is the EUGENE ZIMMERMAN. Printed on verso: Ice Blockade "Zimmerman" in Lead, Soo, Mich. Showing a fleet of steamers, caught fast in the anchor ice out in Lake Superior. Anchor ice is so called for the reason that is it jammed in together in a narrow part of a river in much the same way as a log jam occurs. The ice keeps piling up on top of itself until it is nearly a solid mass to the bed of the river. This string of boats extends back for miles and seldom are they able to release themselves without the aid of tugs or ice-crushing boats. Sometimes they are held in the ice for many days. - This slightly yellowed paper envelope contained a 3-page letter and that was written by Malcolm J. McLeod who was the President of the Trades Council. The upper left corner is printed with the return address of the Detroit Street Railway Employees Association. The front of the envelope is entitled, "Condition of Labor Men of the City of Detroit," and is also signed and dated by Malcolm J. McLeod in the lower right corner. The back flap of the envelope is sealed with an irregularly-shaped blot of red wax.

Printed on verso: The Wayne County Building on Randolph Street, between Fort and Congress, was first occupied by the administrative offices July 1st 1902. The buildings and furniture represent an outlay of $1,650,000 and the side cost the county $550,000. The building fronts on Cadillac Square, and the gilded dome is easily discernible from almost any part of the city. Postmarked 1911.

The business center of Detroit is the Campus Martius, situated at the converging of Lafayette, Monroe, Michigan and Woodward Avenues. It was reserved as a breathing spot in the "Governor and Judges" plan adopted for the city in its early history and has been beautified by a fountain donated by Mrs. Thomas W. Palmer. On it fronts the City Hall, Majestic Building, Detroit and Temple theatres and other prominent factors in the city life. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked 1910.

The architectural specifications (Job 269, Set No. 1) are bound in a booklet that has three brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy tan paper and includes typewritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 76 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page.

- Sixth card of a six trade card set from the Michigan Stove Company advertising Garland Stoves and Ranges, entitled "Before & After Marriage In Five Acts," drawn by Cassius M. Coolidge and copyrighted by George M. Hayes. On the recto is an image of a man in a black and white checkered shirt with a black top hat resting his head on his left arm with his back facing the viewer and his right arm resting on the back of his hip. In the lower left corner of the recto is an image of a woman in a tan dress chasing someone, of whom only a single leg in mid-run is seen, while brandishing a broom and yelling. The card's title, "Married Five Years," is printed in the bottom right corner of the recto. Printed on the verso is damaged advertising copy stating "With five years passed away, this [...] sees the mistake of a day. A s[...] lesson he has been taught, and has since a Garland bought. Those who have marriage in view, should not fail to likewise do."

- Color postcard depicting a view along Central Avenue on Belle Isle filled with many pedestrians. In the foreground is a round flowerbed. Printed on verso: Central Avenue, Belle Isle, Detroit's principal recreation spot, is an island in the Detroit river connected with the city by a bridge, 8 feet less than half a mile in length. It comprises 702 acres, is over two miles long and boasts over 20 miles of fine macadam roadway which completely circles and frequently intersects it. A fine zoo, aquarium, horticultural building, swimming and skating pavilions, casino and boat livery are in connection. The City has expended over $1,500,000 on it since its purchase in 1879. Dear Mrs. Pingree: I am returning the letter from Harrison Granite Co. with their statement enclosed, together with copy of our reply. You will find enclosed your bank-book and a few blank checks. The insurance on your property is distributed as follows: $30,000 on the house; $3,000 on the barn; $35,000 on contents of house; $2,500 on contents of barn. Total $ 70,500.
