- Photograph of a plaque expressing the sincere thanks of the Common Council of Grand Rapids to Martin A. Ryerson, grandson of Antoine Campau, pictured in the middle. Dated July 10, 1899. Mr. Ryerson had donated to the city a "plat of ground" originally owned by Antoine Campau. The plaque is oval, and contains the resolution of the council inside an oval paisley border.

On the arms of the cross are “Cuba”, “Porto Rico”, “Philippine Islands”, and “U.S.A.”. In the center of the circle are two uniformed men holding rifles standing on either side of a kneeling woman. - Hall School students involved in a outdoor beautification project stand near a renovated memorial to former principal Elizabeth Morrisey. The children are, left to right, Susan Scheneman, Bess Ann Laible, David Hall and Shirley Buist. At the time of Morrisey's death in 1919, she had served at Hall School as a teacher and then principal for twenty-five years, as the school grew from four rooms to seventeen. The memorial was dedicated in 1919.
