- Fonnie talks about working for Studebaker in South Bend and coming to Fisher in April 1955. He describes a workplace with few blacks placed on the worst jobs, being placed in the lead solder booth and receiving blood tests for lead exposure. Fonnie describes his move to skilled trades, racial issues, relations with coworkers and managers, and his move to supervision. He reflects on the challenges of being a lone black supervisor, his promotions, retirement and recent loss of benefits.

- An interdisciplinary panel composed of Michigan State University faculty participates in a discussion entitled, "Brave new workplace : the next careers?" Panelists describe their research about the evolution of employment and careers and the type of work available now and in the future. Panelists are: Kenneth Szymusiak, director of the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovations in the Eli Broad College of Business Angela Hall, assistant professor in the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations, Cheryl Sisk, professor of Neuroscience in the College of Naturals Science, Karl Gude director of the Media Sandbox in the College of Communications Arts and Science, and Kenneth Merz, professor of chemistry and director of the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research. MSU Professor John P. Beck convenes the session and moderates questions from the audience. Part of the series "Sharper Focus/Wider Lens" sponsored by the MSU Honors College. - Rocky recalls moving to Lansing at age 15 from Kentucky and being hired in June 1963, working ten and eleven hour shifts, participating in a wildcat strike in 1966 over gloves and receiving discipline. Rocky joined management in 1968 and discusses his relations with UAW officials. He built a replica of the Fisher Coach for a parade. Rocky comments on being transferred to Oldsmobile in 1985 following the corporate reorganization to BOC.

- Walt describes being overwhelmed when he was hired in September 1968, joining management in 1978 and finding it difficult to supervise people he worked with on the line. Walt describes a typical day for supervisors, the dress code for supervisors, meeting his wife in the plant and their struggles with an interracial marriage.

- Dick describes being hired in April 1968 and getting lost twice on his first day. Dick talks about several jobs he had including a special assignment with the product development team. He discusses contract negotiations, strikes, training, and playing guitar. Dick talks about moving up to work directly for the UAW as an International Representative helping UAW locals negotiate contracts with other companies.

- Earl talks about being hired in April 1963, first impressions of the factory, black workers assigned to the body shop, and union sympathies. Earl was the first black supervisor at Fisher and tells of making the transition from hourly to supervision, the effect of the BOC reorganization on managers, and comments on GM's treatment of salaried retirees.

- Dick tells about his life before coming to Fisher in October 1964. Dick describes his first job, first boss, his move to supervision, various pranks, ergonomics, and his relations with UAW officials and upper management. Dick was involved in the product development team and helped establish the plant Emergency Response Team. Dick also talks about after hours social events like the BOC talent show, and his time as a volunteer firefighter.
