Lloyd , the structure is built of South Dakota jasper, a rare variety of pink granite which gives the outside of the house a striking rose hue, the exterior features a multi gabled roof and arched windows that add drama to the, already, luxurious facade, the 21,000 square foot home has 52 rooms, 10 bathrooms, 218 windows, 20 fireplaces, a secret vault in the original dining room and an elevator. "John Butsicaris and his brother Jim opened the Lindell Athletic Club in 1949 in the old Lindell Hotel on Cass Avenue and Bagley Street, christening their establishment the first sports bar in America. The place moved down the street to Cass and Michigan Avenues in 1963. By the 1950's, the Lindell Athletic Club had become the destination for athletes like Mickey Mantle and Wilt Chamberlin and entertainers like Milton Berle and Dean Martin, along with numerous actresses, politicians, judges, gamblers, and mobsters ...
